Kale’s construction - Is a new construction company that better addresses safety concerns and works to overcome the lack of work/life balance. They boast 4 day work weeks to compensate for long hours and have flexible start/finish times to compensate for employees with families. They do workshops to educate employees about racism, sexism, homophobia within the workplace and to create a more inclusive and accepting workplace. This will help to create a more appealing construction industry as people will be able to see there is significant change to make it more appealing in terms of diversity, work-life balance and an overall safer workplace.

Students levels of stress and anxiety are rising due to the workload that schools impose. As young students ourselves, we experience first hand the struggles of life in the classroom everyday. We aim to create a safer world for young people struggling wiht serious mental illness through our organisation - Youth Community Movement. Our organisation will provide a wide range of essential support services designed to keep young people safe and off the streets. These services would include counselling, mentors, youth BBQs and camps.

Another key component of our organisation's services would be the instalment of a patrol unit that would survey high risk areas and provide crisis support to youth in need.

Through the support provided by our organisation, we aim to teach, up skill and empower young people to experience things they might not have otherwise had the chance to. We want to be able to create a safe, happy and healthy community for all, starting at the root of our society: young people.

Life in the loop identified that all age school students are finding it difficult to talk or express about their emotions. We want to help and solve this problem to create a more effective and safe way to communicate with others. Based on our survey results, more than 80% of students identified that they felt a range of emotions throughout the week that impacts their well-being. Out of those same students - all determined that they would prefer a non verbal method to share how they are feeling with their teachers and parents/carers.

\nHaving identified this need myself, I want my peers to have the opportunity to feel safe to express their emotions too. We believe that by building a common 'language', we can all 'bring others into the loop'.","solution":"

Life in the loop creates customisable bracelets that use a 'colour language' for young people to express how they are feeling.

This company will sell beaded bracelets, where each bead colour demonstrates a different mood or feeling, eg, yellow = happy, green=sick, red=angry, each day users can put the beads which best represent their mood on the bracelet, so people are able to identify what mood their in, how their feeling, and adjust how they act towards people around them based on that. The company will donate profits to headspace, promoting the importance of mental health and well-bring.

The aim is for this project to be available Australia wide, with people of all ages being able to improve their emotional literacy and share their emotions.

Our solution is that we have built a board game that teaches you about finances in a fun way. It teaches kids how to earn money, spend sensibly, save, get insurance, pay bills and respond to unexpected life situations, like accidents and injury.

Parents are busy, so this board game is a screen-free opportunity for kids to learn about finances independently. Likewise, it’s an opportunity for family members to spend time together, learning in a fun way.

This game is unique in that it is made for kids by kids, so we understand what makes things fun and how kids think. Also, unlike Monopoly or Game of Life, this game focuses entirely on financial literacy.

Our mission is to make finances fun. Our vision is that all of Gen Alpha will end up with great financial literacy skills so they can live independently and confidently in a changing world.

E.g. store locators, resume templates, information, recommendations and AI generated prompts to equip young people with knowledge for their first job. We want our app to be accessible for young people looking for their first job, but also employers to advertise that they need workers.

The benefits of our app is that it is:

The problem we have found is that people in our target audience are woke, broke and complicated—and spending money.

Our solution is to create an engaging management app which is shared with friends and families. Piggy Heist is a competitive and interactive game that gets families and friends to compete against each other to see who can save the most in a month, without spending money on unnecessary objects like clothing and gadgets. It is an opportunity for young people to learn money skills and self control, while having fun and friendly competition with other people.

Gen Z is facing significant challenges related to student loans and other forms of debt. Effective financial management can help them understand how to manage their debt, make timely payments, and avoid falling into financial traps.

The app engages customers aged 11-26 to compete with friends and family to reach their money saving goals, and also gives educational and informational videos about savings and banking tips!

The issue that we are addressing is children getting overly distracted and stressed in the classroom environment. This stress and distraction commonly leads to anxiety.

Our solution is a pencil that has customisable materials on it that children can fidget with. This means they can fidget with this rather than other things that actually distract them from their work.

Our pidget fencils are made out of recycled plastic so it is environmentally friendly.

Having gained insight into how physical activity and healthy eating impact happiness, they can use learned strategies to maintain positive mental health through their lifestyle, positively impacting their lives both in and out of school.

As our team at balance workshops consists entirely of teenagers, we have a fresh perspective of teenage wellbeing as well as their needs. These views make it easier for us to relate to students, as we are struggling with similar issues and have experienced how changes in lifestyle can minimise and prevent these issues.

Helping Hearts is designed to address these specific needs, offering a blend of real-time support and accessible, user-friendly tools.

We developed Helping Hearts as a paid app to support young people aged 12 and up who may feel lonely or isolated. To access the app’s features, users will pay a one-off download fee, which provides lifetime access to its mental health resources and connection tools. This fee is what funds the Helping Hearts app and benches. Helping Hearts offers three key features: a 24/7 contact page for reaching out to real therapists at any time, an AI therapist for those who feel more comfortable with a virtual option, and a “buddy benches” feature with a map to locate nearby buddy benches where young people can meet and connect in person. The “buddy benches” feature in Helping Hearts offers a unique, real-life opportunity for young people to connect with others in their community. If someone is feeling lonely or wants to make a friend, they can sit on a designated buddy bench, which signals to others that they’re open to conversation and connection. The concept is simple yet powerful: sitting on the buddy bench communicates that you’re ready to talk, making it easier for others nearby to approach and start a friendly conversation. Through this one-time payment model, Helping Hearts offers a sustainable way for young people to access a safe, supportive space for mental health support and peer connections.
